Red bank regional

RBR is a school of variety. There are many different majors to take and since it is a regional school, many different types of people attend here. Here's what I do:

Cyberpatriot

I've done Cyber-patriots for all 4 years of school so far, and I've been a captain of my own team for 2 (hopefully 3 this year). It's a cyber-security competition held each year against hundreds of teams in the nation, and RBR has done very well in the past. Not to mention it is actually a lot of fun.

The season is over now, and as Captain of team dark.red I helped bring my team to Semi Finals. We finished 43rd out of over 1000 teams. We also finished the Semi finals as the top team in NJ, and placed 2nd in the states round (before semis).

The picture to the right is from my freshman year by the way, right aftter round 1.

FBLA

Future Business Leaders of America. I've also done this since freshman year, and it is basically a multiple choice test that everyone takes depending on the category you choose to test in. The highest scores move on and so forth. Freshman year I placed 4th in the state and qualified for the national competition, but unfortunately I wasn't able to attend due to traveling limitations. It is another fun competition, and going to Atlantic City for the day to compete in states is a nice treat if you can get there

This year I placed first in the state in the Cybersecurity category in the 1st round, and 3rd in the state's round, giving me the opportunity to compete a the national event in early July.

stage crew

Crew is arguably the most fun I've had at RBR. I've done it since my sophomore year, and haven't looked back since. I've made most of my friends through crew, and although most of them have graduated and left for college, we've never stopped talking. Building the sets is a good time, and I love managing backstage. All good things to say. Crew is a fantastic time. Was stage manager for the play Anne Frank this year, and will manage for Music Man as well in March.

computer science club

Computer Science Club is a good time. It is a great place to focus on your work and personal interests, and Mr. Milonas is great at providing you one on one help or plenty of resources for you to begin independent studies.

poetry out loud

I finally did Poetry Out Loud my Junior year. I'm extremely nervous and have a hard time presenting to a larger audience, but I knew I needed to overcome that fear, and because I love spoken word poetry I decided to give this a shot. Definitely not my best performance (I was literally shaking) but I felt so much better after the fact and now I'd say I'm relatively comfortable presenting. The poem I performed was "Dream Song 14" by John Berryman (not pictured). I write poetry for fun sometimes as well, and pictured is something I recently wrote, albeit kind of fast, for my application into the National English Honor Society.

To be continued...

There's a lot more here that I could write about. There's Philosophy Club, the Student Advisory Board, and more that I still need to make sections for....
